Networking Opportunities, Customer Case Sessions and Details on Workscape's Latest Benefits and Workforce Management Product Releases Highlight 2-Day Agenda
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (February 5, 2004) - Workscape, Inc., a proven provider of benefits and workforce management solutions, recently welcomed nearly 150 customers, industry thought leaders, partners, and staff to the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona for its inaugural user conference. The user conference was also the venue for the launch of OneForce™, Workscape's next-generation product portfolio of self-service and workforce management applications.
Workscape's director of customer programs, Ed Colby, welcomed attendees on the opening day by referring to this milestone event as the formalization of one "Workscape Community," dedicated to advancing the educational and networking opportunities of it's members. Colby followed with a detailed description of the conference's 22 sessions, several of which were delivered by Workscape customers including Nokia, General Motors, USAA, Agfa, FedEx Ground, and Ahold USA. Following Colby's presentation, Workscape President and CEO, Tim Clifford, recapped the company's history of innovation in the HR technology marketplace and shared his vision for 2004 during the opening keynote.
All of the customer presentations were made to overflow crowds. Additionally, attendees enjoyed a spirited keynote speech by Dr. Edward E. Lawler III, distinguished professor of management and organization, Marshall School of Business, USC and Director of Center for Effective Organizations at USC. Dr. Lawler challenged the audience to consider what they needed to create a high-performance workforce and optimize their technology decisions as a key channel to fulfill that vision.
The conference also featured two expert panel sessions. The first panel, entitled "Emerging Trends in HR and HR Service Delivery - A Review of Best Practices" featured spokespersons from Deloitte, IBM and Towers Perrin. An industry expert panel, in a lively point/counter point format, featured Human Resource Executive Magazine Technology Columnist and HR Technology Conference co-chairman, Bill Kutik, as its moderator, and Ron Hanscome, senior program director, META Group, Dr. Edward Lawler, USC and David Link, vice president, HR Transformation, The Cedar Group as its participants.
"I would highly recommend the Workscape User Conference to my colleagues," said Cathy Hoferka, Senior Manager, HR Information Systems, for FedEx Ground. "The sessions provided valuable insight into what other professionals are doing in the way of automating HR and becoming a more effective strategic partner."
Workscape's senior vice president, marketing and product strategy, Betsy Zikakis, delivered a compelling presentation that detailed Workscape's innovative product direction, as well as its new brand identity, which was launched at the User Conference.
Zikakis commented, "Creating a meaningful first annual user conference for our customers was the culmination of a lot of hard work and dedication on the part of our employees and our partners. That said, we couldn't have delivered the quality and breadth of content that we did without the involvement of our customers, who delivered outstanding sessions illustrating their own workforce transformation experiences. We thank them for their contributions and look forward to their participation in next year's user conference."
