Workscape to Provide Square D/Schneider Electric with Comprehensive Range of Manager, Employee and Benefits Self-Service Applications


Successful Project Roll-out Now Underway for 11,000 U.S. Employees


FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (December 17, 2002) - Workscape, Inc., a leading provider of Internet-based Human Capital Management solutions, announced today that it has been selected by Square D/Schneider Electric, one of the nation's leading electrical equipment manufacturers, to provide a comprehensive range of manager, employee, and benefits self-service solutions for its 11,000 US employees. Roll-out of the initial self-service application, online benefits enrollment, began in November 2002.

Square D/Schneider Electric selected Workscape after an extensive search focused on identifying a provider with a strong set of applications and a proven ability to deliver. "We were impressed with Workscape's level of preparedness and professionalism during the pre-sale process," said Peggy P. Gann, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Administration for Square D/Schneider Electric. "The quality of their products and their experience in integrating with a variety of other vendors were also important differentiators."

 

Square D/Schneider Electric opted to have Workscape provide all applications on a hosted ASP basis. "We chose hosted services because this approach allowed for greater ease of implementation as well as speed of deployment," Gann said.

 

Workscape's self-service solutions will empower the company's employees to initiate transactions anytime, anywhere on a 24/7 basis. "We foresee numerous benefits from this initiative," said Gann. "One is enhanced employee satisfaction, both in the way in which they receive information from us, as well as in their ability to perform and manage their own transactions. Another is greater integrity of our employee data. By letting employees control their own information, the data should be more accurate and, in turn, make it easier to move information from one department to another - for example, from human resources to payroll."

 

Phase one of Workscape's implementation for Square D/Schneider Electric included Benefits Self-Service applications supporting annual and ongoing enrollment and dependent maintenance. Building on the success of the initial roll-out and moving forward into 2003, additional employee self-service solutions to be implemented include direct deposit, electronic pay stub, federal W4 withholding, beneficiary maintenance and address maintenance. Manager Self-service products to be implemented include Workscape's Compensation Planner, Workforce Events, and Executive Reporter.
