For the third consecutive year, Workscape is the most widely used according to 2001 Cedar study
FRAMINGHAM, MA, November 26, 2001 - According to the fourth annual 2001 Human Resources Self-Service/Portal Survey by Cedar, a global enterprise software, consulting and services organization, Workscape extended its position by a substantial margin as the world's leading provider of human resources self-service and portal solutions.
The 2001 Cedar survey indicated that Workscape, in its 3rd consecutive year as industry leader, has extended its market share to 31% - an 11% increase over last year. The next closest vendors, Peoplesoft at 18% and Talx at 17%, saw little to no market share growth between 2000 and 2001. ProAct, mySAP and Oracle captured less than 5% market share each.
"The results of the 2001 Cedar survey reflects the steady growth and success we have been experiencing during this difficult year for most enterprise software companies," Tim Clifford, Workscape CEO said. "As the survey indicates, many of our enterprise clients continue to see real value in the contributions products such as Workscape's can make in improved business performance and employee satisfaction. Workscape's native web employee and manager self-service applications drive significant ROI and productivity gains, and therefore continue to be purchased by large companies looking to create real efficiencies in their workforce."
This is Cedar's fourth annual survey on the topic of HR service delivery solutions. Information was collected and analyzed from over 300 organizations representing over 10 million employees, collectively, across North America, Australia/Asia Pacific and Europe. Cedar includes the organization formerly known as The Hunter Group, which conducted the survey in previous years.
Employee Portals Play an Evolving Role
For 2001, Cedar expanded the scope of the survey to include trends in portal adoption as an HR service delivery tool. According to the survey, close to 60% of North American respondents report they have a corporate portal strategy, while over 70% of Australian and European respondents report such a strategy. In all regions, HR functionality is included in the portal strategy by more than 75% of respondent organizations.
Employee.com, Workscape's flagship portal/HR Self-Service offering, has recently been implemented at General Motors. The Workscape solution will serve as GM's corporate portal for over 180,000 of GM's U. S. union and non-union employees making this the largest employee portal ever deployed in this country. In 2002, Workscape will leverage its leadership position in HR Self-Service and its recent success in portal solutions for some of the largest employers in North America.
