Description

 

The Business Analyst (BA) works with both external clients and internal project teams. The BA will facilitate requirements gathering sessions to determine business needs, map the requirements to product functionality and design solutions for gaps between requirements and product functionality.  The BA will document the functionality to be implemented, review the requirements with the development team, work with developers throughout the development phase, create test plans and scripts, assist in testing, coordinate defect resolution throughout all project phases and provide client production support.  The position requires up to 10% travel.

 


Responsibilities

 

  • Works directly or indirectly with clients for the purpose of completing requirements documents.  
  • Create functional specifications for all components of client solution.  
  • Interacts with other Workscape departments such as PMO and Product Engineering on a regular basis.
  • Participates in the initiative recommendations process on a regular basis.
  • Adheres to Workscape’s process, ensuring quality reviews take place as required.
  • Presents project requirements in process reviews.
  • Assists with the administration of Workscape’s Client Engagement Methodology, which consists of best practices, process, templates, and documentation.  
  • Participates in/Leads focus groups for ongoing maintenance to adapt the tools to internal needs and requests.  Confirming with PMO, updates tools, templates & processes to reflect focus group results.
  • Mentor and coach team members.
  • Create comprehensive plan for testing applications and database logic.
  • Responsible for test-planning for each of their projects.
  • Document, distribute, and store the test scripts, test approach, and test results for each build
  • Optimize functionality testing across platform and user type (client user role)
  • Participate and document the defect triage meetings 
  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

 

 Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree
  • Minimum of three to five years experience in a Business Analyst/Consultant role
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to successfully manage multiple responsibilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Solid communication skills; both written and oral. 
  • Communicates complex ideas and issues to various audiences effectively.
  • Effectively documents communications. 
  • Proficient presentation and meeting management skills. 
  • Works well in a team environment,  demonstrated ability to facilitate team meetings and meet project deadlines
  • Solid knowledge of SQL, eRoom, file transfers, configuration and file automation tools
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Working Knowledge of MS Project and/or enterprise project management software
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional interaction with client management at all levels 
  • Strong ability to handle stressful situations and heavy workloads 
  • Demonstrated ability to gather requirements and provide analysis and requirements management
  • Strong client management skills
  • Previous experience in an HR, HR Technology, Benefits or Insurance environment preferred.
